ROWing Hard or Hardly ROWing?

I’m a bad ROWer, that I am. I’ve missed several check-ins, because… I’ve been busy.

I also may be addicted to Giphy. Just saying.

Anyhow, before I get into it, it’s Release Day for Edge of Darkness ~ Book Three in the Darkness & Light series. Yeah, not much fanfare, I know. But I hate pimping book 3 if you haven’t read the first two books. So, go. Read.

Also, shout out to the WIPpeteers, because it is Wednesday, and that’s WIPpet day, even if I don’t have one to share.

On to my goals and progress or lack thereof:

  1. Make serious headway on Pawn of Shadows (from hereon known as PoS), the second Coinblade Chronicles book.  I’m not sure about ‘serious’ headway, but I did lots of plotting, noodling, and wording. So there has been headway made.
  2. Finalize trailer for BiS, and formulate marketing plan, etc. in the event the traditional route does not pan out.  Um… I worked on the trailer some and that was it. But this is a long-term goal, not a get-it-done-between-check-ins goal.
  3. Finish at least one more short story, either in the Coinblade Chronicles world, or grimdark. I say ‘one more’ because I currently have a short in the hands of several savvy Betas. I’m not completely sure what I intend it for. It’s very possible it will be made available ONLY to newsletter subscribers. See link over there <——— Have some ideas for a short, but I’ve been primarily focused on #1. And lambing. As usual, you can read about farm exploits over at my Shadowdance blog.

Now, I’m going to run over and check out some of the other ROWers to cheer them on. You can, as well, if you like. Just click on the ROW80 logo.

  1. Woot for release day! And I totally understand not wanting to send out book 3 with a lot of fanfare.

    Good luck with your goals!

BTW, is that Driev leaning on your K.? *g*

  2. I’m excited about release day! I pre-ordered and am waiting, not so patiently, for it to magically appear on my Kindle!!

  3. Hey, busy is busy. It’s okay to be a bad RoWer if the reason is being busy.

I’m coming up on finishing the third book of a trilogy right now, too, and I think the only fanfare it will involve is the fanfare that goes along with finally being FINISHED with it. So many other projects are calling my name…

Now to get all those swirling thoughts down into words! Keep up the good work.

    • It’s almost a relief to be done. No, not ‘almost’, it is. I love the story and the characters, but the final book soundly thumped me. More projects always just around the corner.

  4. Hah! I just noticed Driev there. Hiya Driev!

    Release day!!! Woohoo!!!

It looks like you’re making progress to me. 🙂

  5. Umm, last I heard, being busy is the excuse most of us use when we’re a bit off on our check-ins. Life happens. Just glad you’re writing and keeping on, keeping on.

    • Ha! But, yes, well, I can’t promise I’ll be regular about my check-ins at all. At least I’m getting words snuck in, though. 😀

  6. Congrats on the release! I will have to check out book 1.

Progress is progress, big or small. 🙂

  7. Yay for the release. I have mine waiting to be read on my kindle. 🙂

And you’re making progress, so that’s always good.

  8. Congrats on the new release! That’s always exciting.

I think you’re doing great. Every little thing we do is important. Even the noodling! 🙂

  9. I noticed Driev right away! How could I miss him, up there on the left?

I’m in the progress is progress canp. I’m waay behind in my Camp word count – unless I decide to add in my fanfic counts for this month – I’ve got several thousand words written and revised – and posted on a BIG fanfic site, too!

For me, that’s a huge and scary step – the kind of thing that can’t be quantified, because it involves fundamental shifts and growth in ME.

I’d say anything you fit in around the lamb is (I was going to say gravy, but that sounds wrong, and so does mint jelly, so add your own garnish ,please.).

I thought you might like to know that the way the center field overlays the background looks really cool, but makes it hard for me to read the text.
