Getting in the Holiday Mood Giveaway and a WIPpet

You know how sometimes you think you have an extra week stuck in the month? I did that this month. Somehow it totally escaped me that next week is Christmas. Not that we do much until the following week. Point is, if next week is Christmas, the following week is sooner than I thought. Good in some ways because I’m looking forward to things. Bad in others because I no longer have as much time as I thought I did to accomplish other things.

*head, desk, repeat*

Moving on. This snuck up on me as well. That’s right, the Kindle version of First of Her Kind, the first book in my epic fantasy trilogy, will be FREE for four days on Amazon. FREEPromo15Here’s the link: First of Her Kind. If you haven’t read it yet, now’s your chance to dive in.

Feel free to share the news, you know, if you’re in the sharing mood, it being the holiday season and all.

*cough*

And now for something totally different…

It is Wednesday and that means WIPpets, right? You can read more WIPpets here.

I’m sharing bits of the second Coinblade Chronicles book while book one Bound in Shadow remains in limbo.

No context and first drafty, 31 words for the 16th day plus the year.

“I hope you plan on taking it elsewhere,” I said staring into the black, steaming depths of my drink and wondering if that’s what the remnants of my soul looked like.

And, yes, I know exactly who’s going to want to hug him. ;P

Have a lovely holiday, Kathi. It snu k up on me, too.

  4. Hard to forget Christmas is coming with two young ones in the house. Let’s just say I intentionally forget.

    *slips into the hugging line*

    • Yes, Young Ones have a way of remembering that date, even if they can’t remember anything else. πŸ˜‰ Our holiday is pretty much quiet time for us. This year, however, it might include starting a home project. Which would be awesome because it’s a project I’ve wanted to do since moving here ten years ago! Merry Christmas to me!! πŸ˜€

  5. Phenomenal line. You need to keep that line, somehow, even if the scene it is currently part of gets cut.

  6. That line!!!!! I’m not a real huggy person, so maybe I’ll just join him in a bit of brooding over whatever he’s drinking.

  7. No context? Fascinating still. I’m wondering who he’s talking to. Of course, he could be a she. And the person could be a friend or someone with a problem. I’d turn the page, stand in line, give a hug — all to find out what happens next!
