Dachus snorted. “You can’t be a Dracon Master, you’re a –“
She arched a dark, slender brow at him and leaned back against the dragon’s upper shoulder, arms folded across her chest. And the beast — Dachus swore it chuckled at him.
He cleared his throat and brushed imaginary lint from his brocade doublet. “What I mean is, I didn’t realize the Dracon Court accepted half–“
The woman’s eyes narrowed, and the dragon’s head angled toward Dachus, lips pulling back just enough to reveal a hint of tooth.
